Milling or routing is a technique performed on a CNC machine with a routing tool. Routing is used to form the contour of the PCB at the very end of the production process when we separate the individual PCBs from the production panel.

The contour of the PCB consists of the outline and cut-outs inside the PCB outline which, are often referred to as ‘Milling’ or ‘Internal Milling’.

The standard router is 2mm in diameter. Smaller diameters up to 0.5mm are possible but may increase the price of the PCB.

The ‘Milling’ order detail specifies the milling tool diameter to be used on inner corners of the PCB Outline/Milling. This setting should be used if a specific inner corner radius is required.

The default setting of ‘No’ means that the standard 2.00mm milling tool diameter is used, resulting in an inner corner radius of 1.00mm.
